Here are our key staff members, just so you can get to know us a little bit better.

  • David Settle
    David’s career in telecoms began in 1982 as a telecoms engineer, initially doing work as a sub-contractor. After working for various companies he decided that the industry needed a different approach, one that had honesty and reliability at its core. In 1992 he formed a company now known as Ryland Communications. However the need for an integrated system support service meant that in 1997 Telcare was formed.

    As a co-founder of Telcare, Lisa has been involved with the company since its inception - though her career in Telecoms started in 1980. She currently manages all advertising and recruitment drives, our company newsletter Talk at Telcare and the streamlining of our office-management system. Lisa currently oversees all customer relations and works with over a hundred of our clients.
  • John Darby [LinkedIn]
    John had worked as a telecoms engineer for ten years before joining Telcare. His new role found him in unfamiliar territory – behind a desk. Yet his technical knowledge has proved to be just as useful in providing technical support for our customers as it was for installing their systems. John has established an award winning support line and takes care of our most valuable asset – our reputation for excellence.
  • Colin Darby[LinkedIn]
    Colin successfully applied for an apprenticeship with British Telecom straight after finishing school. He trained with BT for three years, and worked for them for a further five years gaining invaluable technical experience. He has attended Siemens training courses since 1992 and is now accredited as a Siemens specialist. Colin continues to play an important role in developing our technical expertise in new and expanding areas of telecoms.
  • Nick Settle
    Technical Support
    Nick graduated from Portsmouth University with a degree in Business Studies, he then worked as a brands manager for fifteen years. Eventually he decided to trade it all in for an honest days work with a small and close-knit team of colleagues. He now oversees and installs all new technology for our clients, mostly involving the development of our Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) systems.
  • Rebecca Garcia
    PA and Office Manager
    Bekki has also been with Telcare since it was formed. Her initial roles involved administration and accounts and she has also recently started to assist on the helpdesk. Rebecca has now mastered the art of Remote Programming and can often be found in our supply areas sourcing and testing replacement parts for systems.
  • Victoria Nobes
    Contracts Renewal Manager
    After fifteen years in finance, Victoria swapped her role in banking for a career in telecommunications. She joined Telcare in 2004 as our Contracts Renewal Manager and has also been responsible for the managing of the financial aspects of our contracts and payment plans.
  • Paul Tidmas
    Paul joined the team here at Telcare back in Feb 2009. After 18 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he felt the need for a change of scenery. So Paul found a home for himself at our helpdesk where he assists the technical support team. Paul’s methodical approach serves us well when it comes to troubleshooting, he is probably at his happiest when tinkering on the test bench.
  • Jamie Darby
    Jamie graduated from UCA Canterbury in 2011. An interest in gaining some work experience led Jamie to a placement on our busy helpdesk. He found that he enjoyed resolving faults and trouble shooting for our customers, so quickly became part of our team. Jamie is a keen and quick learner when it comes to the more complex faults and handles the fast pace of the helpdesk very well.
